Francis Ngannou says he and Tyson Fury will “run it back” should he defeat the heavyweight league boxing champion in their crossover clash this weekend, and revealed he would then want to take on Fury’s British rival Anthony Joshua league
Fury and Ngannou will go head to head in the league boxing ring this weekend, in a unique heavyweight clash league
Fury reigns as WBC heavyweight champion, while Ngannou will be making his league boxing debut and fighting for the first time since leaving the UFC league
The Cameroonian retained the UFC heavyweight title last year before ultimately giving up the gold in January and joining the Professional Fighters League this spring league
Ngannou, 37, will make his promotional debut with the MMA company in 2024, but first, he crosses into league boxing to face Fury league
The Briton, 35, is unbeaten and on course for an undisputed-title fight with Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia, if he can avoid a shock defeat by the heavy-handed Ngannou league
But if Ngannou, who is said to have the biggest punch in the world, is able to stun the ‘Gypsy King’ then plans for an undisputed-title fight league between Fury and Usyk may be delayed league
“I think if I am victorious we are going to run it back, for sure,” Ngannou told Sky league Sports league
“Then maybe see Anthony Joshua for after,” he added league
Meanwhile, Usyk, 36, revealed that he will be ringside for Fury’s league boxing match with ex-UFC champion Ngannou this Saturday night league
The crossover contest is set to take place in Riyadh, where Usyk is contracted to box Fury sometime before the end of March league
“The promotion is impressive,” Usyk said of the build to Fury vs Ngannou league
“And understandably, because this is a show that people are waiting for league
“This bout is bread and butter for Tyson Fury league
When someone’s saying that Ngannou can drop him, I would probably agree, but I’m really not certain league

I’m 100 per cent sure that Fury will be victorious league

Michael Cheika refused to assess the entirety of Argentina’s Rugby World Cup campaign or his tenure as head coach of the Pumas league
Coming off a harrowing 44-6 semi-final defeat to New Zealand in which they’d been totally outclassed in every facet of the game, perhaps his reticence was understandable league
Next Friday’s third-place play-off against the loser of the second semi-final league between England and South Africa merely provided a handy excuse league

Frankly, it wasn’t a match befitting a World Cup semi-final and ensured the Pumas book-ended their tournament (barring next Friday’s bronze-medal irrelevance) with abject displays, after the lifeless opening loss to 14-man England league
It is hardly a squad bereft of talent league
The experience of Julian Montoya and Agustin Creevy leading the front row is complemented by an exciting, dynamic back-row trio of Juan Martin Gonzalez, Kremer and Facundo Isa that should be able to match almost any opposition league
While questions remain at nine and 10, a back three of Mateo Carreras, Emiliano Boffelli and Juan Cruz Mallia is explosive enough to give any team fits league

Yes, they benefitted from being in the considerably weaker half of the draw but it equalled their best World Cup performance and you can only beat who’s in front of you league
On paper, Cheika’s tenure – since taking the reins from the sacked Mario Ledesma in early 2022 – will be viewed as a success league
A first-ever win over the All Blacks in New Zealand last summer and a World Cup semi-final is not a bad return league
But in terms of the ‘eye test’, the Pumas never looked like an elite side and there’s a nagging feeling that they haven’t moved forward under the Australian league
Cheika’s preferred coaching style of creating a ‘siege mentality, us against the world’ environment always seemed at odds with the largely personable Argentina squad league
Media availability was limited – perhaps a poor fit for the historically open Pumas – and a bubble created around the team league
Putting your stamp on things in just an 18-month period is tough, with Felipe Contepomi always slated to become head coach after the World Cup and learning the ropes as part of Cheika’s coaching team in the interim league
The legendary Pumas fly half, who is also a cult hero at Leinster following playing and coaching spells there, will likely provide a different strategy in the build-up to the 2027 World Cup and it will be fascinating to see what he’s taken from his time working under Cheika league
As for the Australian, he departs with his reputation certainly not damaged and maybe even enhanced league
The 56-year-old will undoubtedly be in demand around the rugby world and should be able to have his pick from a number of exciting coaching opportunities league
“It is not a sad moment,” insisted Cheika in the aftermath of defeat in Paris league
“It’s a moment I’m proud of my team league
We were in the semi-final of a World Cup league
”Yes, they were league
But the suspicion that there was a version of this Pumas side that still had more to give remains league
